user disabled but not by active-directory

Hello,
we have been using Mantis for some time and switched from local users to authentication via Active Directory about a year ago.
Since then we are having a problem with users being disabled on Mantis, something I didn't expect to happen following integration with AD.
In certain situations user sessions fail revalidation, and tipically the user performs a certain number of attempts before giving up. In these cases users are nearly always disabled on Mantis, but not on AD. I remember this would happen when we were using local users.
Could I try increasing the failed login/revalidation attempts limit in the source code, could someone point me to the file which needs to be modified?
I tried to find out by myselft but my limited knowledge of PHP did not help.
Thank you.
Martin
